Day wise Planning
Day 1
GUWAHATI - SHILONG (98 KM / 3 Hrs)
Pick Up From Guwahati Airport / Railway Station & Proceed to Shillong. En-route enjoy boat ride (Subject to operation) in Umiam Lake. Arrive in Shillong in the evening.
Day 2
SHILLONG - MAWLYNONG - DAWKI - SHILLONG (110 KM)
Today we explore Mawlynnong village which has been awarded as the 'Cleanest Village in Asia'. We visit the Balancing Rock and the Living Root Bridge – Centuries old bridges grown from tangled roots. Later we visit the Indo – Bangladesh border and Dawki river. Evening back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 3
SHILONG - CHERRAPUNJEE - SHILONG (110 KM RETURN)
Today we visit Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls. Later we proceed to Cherrapunjee - one of the wettest place on earth. Upon arrival, we visit Ram Krishna Mission, Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai fall – the tallest plunge waterfall in India. In the evening, enjoy free time for shopping in local market. Overnight Shillong.
Day 4
SHILONG - KAZIRANGA (230 KM)
After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park (250 kms/ 8 hrs). Evening free for personal activities. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 5
KAZIRANGA
Early morning Elephant ride to the national park (Timings: 1st ride: 5.30 – 6.30 a.m. & 2nd ride: 6.30 – 7.30 a.m.) Return for breakfast. Afternoon Jeep safari to the central range of the park. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 6
KAZIRANGA - DIRANG ( 285 KM)
After breakfast drive to Dirang (285 Kms / 9 - 10 hrs). Check in Hotel. Afternoon visit to District Museum, Kalachakra Monastery etc. Evening free at leisure. Overnight in Dirang.
Day 7
DIRANG - TAWANG ( 135 KM)
Morning after breakfast drive to Tawang (10,000 ft). En route witness the unique Dirang Valley famous for its monasteries, Also witness the snow capped Sella Pass at 13700 ft is snow-covered (full or partial) all through the year and has breathtaking mystic views. Close to the Pass is the beautiful Sela Lake, a heart-shaped lake chiseled between the mountains, which intensifies the beauty of the region. The Lake is mostly frozen in winter. also visit Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Overnight in Tawang.
Day 8
TAWANG
After breakfast drive high above town to the high altitude lakes of Pangong Tang Tso (popularly known as PT Tso). Sangestar Lake or more popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is about 20 kms from Tawang, en route to the road leading to Bum La Pass. The lake is surrounded by the majestic snow-capped mountains and a marvelous valley offering spectacular views..Also Visit China Border (subject to permission from Indian Army OR DC OFFICE). DC's office remains closed on Saturday & Sunday.Overnight at Tawang.
Day 9
TAWANG
The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the "GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE" Monestary - one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia. The birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. 'The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains' at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. Visit the monastery and the War Memorial. Evening free Time for shopping. Overnight in Tawang.
Day 10
TAWANG – BOMDILA (177 KM)
Morning drive to Bomdila (6 Hrs) . Evening free at leisure. Overnight in Bomdila.
Day 11
BOMDILA - GUWAHATI (270 KM)
After Breakfast proceed to Guwahati. On arrival Check in at hotel and relax. Rest of the time is free at leisure. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 12
DROP GUWAHATI RALWAY STATION / AIRPORT
Morning to Afternoon free time for visit Kamakhya Temple and enjoy the boat ride in Brahmaputra river for visiting Umananda Temple situated in a small river island in Brahmaputra.
