Day wise Planning

Upon your arrival at Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), the capital city of Kerala, you
will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After checking in and refreshing, embark
on a captivating city tour. Trivandrum, often referred to as the ‘Evergreen City of India,’
is renowned for its undulating terrain of low coastal hills and bustling commercial
alleys. Your exploration will include a visit to the iconic Sree Padmanabhaswamy
Temple, an architectural marvel dedicated to Lord Vishnu, known for its intricate
carvings and immense spiritual significance. Please note that there is a strict dress
code for entry into the temple, and non-Hindus may have restricted access to certain
areas. Following this, you will proceed to the Napier Museum and Zoo, a splendid
Indo-Saracenic structure housing a rare collection of archaeological and historical
artifacts, along with a well-maintained zoological park. After a hearty breakfast, check out from your Trivandrum hotel and begin your scenic
drive to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of mainland India. This unique destination
is where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean converge, offering
unparalleled views. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and prepare for an evening of
natural splendor. The highlight of your day will be witnessing the mesmerizing sunset
at Kanyakumari, a truly unforgettable experience as the sun dips below the horizon,
painting the sky in a riot of colors. Rameswaram
Rise early to experience the ethereal beauty of the sunrise at Kanyakumari, a moment
of profound tranquility as the first rays of dawn illuminate the confluence of the three
seas. After this spiritual awakening, enjoy breakfast and then take a ferry ride to the
Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a sacred monument built on a rock island where Swami
Vivekananda meditated and attained enlightenment. Adjacent to it is the Thiruvalluvar
Statue, a towering stone sculpture dedicated to the renowned Tamil poet and
philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. After soaking in the serene atmosphere, check out from
your hotel and embark on a journey to Rameswaram, one of the holiest pilgrimage
sites in India. Dedicate this day to exploring the spiritual and historical treasures of Rameswaram.
Begin with a visit to the Ramanathaswamy Temple, a magnificent Dravidian
architectural masterpiece and one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. The
temple is famous for its longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India and its
sacred wells (theerthams), where pilgrims take holy dips. After your temple visit,
explore other significant sites such as Dhanushkodi, a ghost town at the southeastern
tip of Pamban Island, believed to be the starting point of Rama Setu (Adam’s Bridge).
The remnants of the town, devastated by a cyclone, offer a poignant glimpse into its
past. You will also visit the Five-faced Hanuman Temple, housing a floating stone
believed to be used in the construction of Rama Setu, and the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
House, After breakfast, check out from your Rameswaram hotel and proceed to Madurai, often
referred to as the ‘Athens of the East’ due to its rich cultural heritage and ancient
temples. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the
grandeur of the Meenakshi Amman Temple, the heart and soul of Madurai. This
sprawling temple complex, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar,
is a stunning example of Dravidian architecture, adorned with towering gopurams
(gateway towers) intricately carved with mythological figures. Witness the vibrant
rituals and the spiritual fervor that permeates the air. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your flight or train schedule,
you may have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping or revisiting a favorite
spot. Our representative will then assist you with your transfer to Madurai Airport or
Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying with you cherished memories of
your South India pilgrimage and cultural tour.
